So for the last couple of weeks I have been toying with an idea for a game that so far is proving quick and easy to develop. It may not be the game that I had intended to showcase for the Perth Games Festival, but its better than having nothing at all to show.
With only one week to go until the deadline for festival registration, it has really become make or break time. In terms of committing to exhibiting at the festival this year.
Despite the seemingly quick development turn around on this mysterious project, I seem to have some misgivings about showcasing the game at all, should it all come together that is. I think this is mostly due to my fear that it may not be fun or exciting or challenging enough, as the core gameplay idea seems a little too simple in today’s marketplace.
The other consideration that keeps popping into my mind is to showcase the same game again as last year. This just seems to lead me to a bunch of other misgivings as nothing has really changed with that game, and it still hasn’t been released despite being 95% done.
With only about two weeks to go until the registration cut off i guess its time to make a decision..
